FAQ
Still stuck? Email us and a real person replies.
Are batteries included?
No. Each mask takes 2x AA batteries, and they're not in the box. Four masks need eight. We haven't published a battery life figure because it depends on the batteries, the mode and the cold, so pack spares for a long night.
Will it fit me?
It's for ages 14 and over, and a strap holds it on. Not sure? Email us at sales@deadbright.com before you order and we'll help you work it out.
How long does delivery take?
Your mask ships from our fulfilment partner's overseas warehouse. They dispatch it within 2 days, then it travels for 6 to 10 days. From order to your door that's about 8 to 12 days.
- Ireland and the rest of the EU: 8 to 12 days.
- United Kingdom: 8 to 12 days.
- United States: 8 to 12 days.
- Australia: 8 to 12 days.
Shipping is free. These are estimates, not promises.
Will it arrive before Halloween?
It might. Order by Monday 12 October, 23:59 Irish time, and our latest estimate is Saturday 24 October. That is an estimate, not a promise: the parcel comes from overseas, and couriers and customs can add days. If it has to be there on a particular day, allow extra time.
Not for a new order. The Monday 12 October cutoff for a Halloween arrival has passed. Parties, raves and festivals come next. The estimate is 8 to 12 days from your order, and couriers and customs can add days.
What if it doesn't light up?
Lights up or we replace it. If your mask is faulty, damaged or the wrong colour, email us within 30 days of delivery and we send a free replacement or refund you in full, your choice. You don't need to send it back. For a faulty mask, fit fresh batteries and press the button first. If it still doesn't light, send a short video that shows the batteries going in and the button being pressed. Details are in the refund policy.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
If you're in Ireland, the EU or the UK, yes. You can withdraw within 14 days of receiving the mask, without giving a reason. Use the Withdraw from contract link in the footer or email sales@deadbright.com, and we'll send the return address within 2 working days. You pay the return postage. A faulty, damaged or wrong-colour mask is a different case: we replace or refund it and you don't need to send it back. See the refund policy.
How do I switch modes?
Press the button on the controller, the clip-on battery pack. Each press moves to the next mode: Steady, Slow Flash, Fast Flash. Keep pressing until you land on the one you want.
Does it give off UV?
Our supplier lists the EL wire as giving off no UV.
Is it safe to wear?
It's a costume, not a toy, and it hasn't been certified as a toy or tested to a toy standard.
Photosensitive epilepsy warning: the flashing modes can trigger seizures in some people. If you or anyone near you has photosensitive epilepsy, or has had a seizure triggered by lights, use Steady only or do not use the mask.
Takes 2x AA batteries, not included. Insert them the right way round. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types. Do not try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Take the batteries out when the mask is not in use. Take used batteries to a battery recycling point.
A mask narrows your view, so don't wear it while driving or cycling, and take it off to cross a road. Stop using it if it gets hot or is damaged.
How do I look after it?
Wipe the mask with a damp cloth and let it dry fully. Don't soak the wire, the controller or the battery pack. Take the batteries out when you've finished for the night. Store the mask flat, and don't fold or crimp the wire, because sharp bends can break it.
Can I mix colours in a Duo or a Squad?
Yes. Pick any mix of the nine colours, or the same colour four times. The price is the same either way.
Do bundle prices and the welcome code stack?
No. Bundle prices and the 10% welcome code don't combine. At checkout you get whichever saves you more.
Is it a glow in the dark mask?
It's a light-up mask. The EL wire runs on batteries, so it lights on demand, even in a bright room. Glow-in-the-dark paint is different: it has to soak up light first and fades as the night goes on.
Is it for kids?
It's for ages 14 and over. It's a costume accessory, not a toy, and it hasn't been certified as a toy or a children's product. If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian to place the order.
Which countries do you sell to?
We currently sell to Ireland, the rest of the EU, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia. Pick your country in the footer and you'll see your own currency. If your country isn't listed, we can't ship there yet.
Will I pay anything extra?
Shipping is free and we add nothing at checkout. Your parcel ships from overseas, so customs or the carrier may charge import VAT, duty and a handling fee when it arrives. These charges are set by your country, are not included in our prices, and are the buyer's responsibility. If you are not sure what applies, check with your local customs authority before you order.
